The General Manager of "JAT Airways", Nebojša Starčević, stated that there were "big and real" chances for Indian airliner "Air India" to become the strategic partner of the national air transportation company and to solve the problems of the domestic company through additional capitalization.

Starčević said that the letter of intent, which was signed with the representatives of "Air India" at the end of December 2006, created opportunity for founding of joint venture in Belgrade.

The letter of intent encompasses "rental" of "JAT's" pilots who are without engagement to Indian company on period of 6-12 months, education of Indian pilots in "JAT's" flying academy in Vršac and in the Belgrade School Centre, as well as commercial collaboration related to flights to USA and Canada, via Belgrade.
