EasyJet cleared to operate Belgrade-Milan flights
Serbia's Civil Aviation Directorate (CAD) has cleared low-cost carrier easyJet to operate a Belgrade-Milan route, data from the regulator's website showed.
In February, easyJet told SeeNews that it plans to carry over 40,000 passengers on the Belgrade-Milan route in the first year of its operation. The service between Nikola Tesla International Airport and Malpensa Milan Airport is set to launch on April 19 and will be its first to a destination in Serbia.
CAD also said in a statement on Tuesday that there is increased interest from foreign air carriers to fly to and from the Belgrade airport. A total of 18 airlines have been cleared to operate out of the airport in the summer season of 2013 which starts March 31.
