Swisslion Company, owned by Rodoljub Draskovic, stopped its production of jaffa cookie in Sisak. In the future, the company will produce jaffa cookie in its Trebinje-based plant because, as the General Manager of Sisak-based plant, Igor Lovrekovic explained, the Management of Concern made this decision because of the Croatia’s joining EU and customs Croatia will have to pay to CEFTA countries, who make majority customers of jaffa cookie produced in Sisak.

- Bosnia and Herzegovina is the biggest customer and as of June 1, 2013, due to new fees, we would not be competitive anymore. Therefore, production is moving to Trebinje – Lovrekovic said.

Due to this fact, 12 employees working in Sisak-based jaffa cookie factory on definite end contracts while 11 of them will stay to work. During the summer, they will turn Sisak-based plant into production of eurocrem, food for children, smoki and similar.

- As things appear to be, new production in Sisak will start by the end of this or beginning of next year latest – Lovrekovic said.
