Civilian airplanes soon on military airport in Lađevci, construction of control tower, worth 3.5m EUR, to start in one month
Famous military airport in village Lađevci near Kraljevo will, in month or two, be ready for landing of civilian airplanes.
That was announced in Lađevci by Velimir Ilić, the Minister of Capital Investments of Serbia, and Zoran Stanković, the Minister of Defense of SCG. This also solved the dilemma about which of the military airports will be organized for both civilian and military air transportation.
The ministers confirmed that Užice's airport on Ponikve had no license for use because, as colonel Srećko Jeremić, the commander of both military facilities, stated, there were some inactivated bombs left on the runways from the NATO bombing.
In the first phase, in some thirty days, the construction of control tower will commence at the airport in Lađevci. That investment will cost about 3.5 million EUR. Once it is finished, Lađevci will be able to receive smaller civilian airplanes.
That will be followed by the second phase - broadening and extending of the existing runway, after which the airport will be able to receive even the biggest aircrafts.
