Belgian company "Electrawinds" to invest 25m EUR in slaughterhouse waste processing factory in Serbia
Belgian company for renewable energy "Electrawinds" has announced
that it will invest 25m EUR in construction of the factory for processing of
slaughterhouse waste in Klenj near Šabac.
As it was explained at the presentation in the Embassy of Belgium to Serbia,
the factory should be put in operation in summer 2010, while the construction
will start within the next month.
The Director of company "Kafilerija" from Klenj, Tamara Drecun, said
that the factory would be built by company "Zelena", which had been
founded in Belgium by "Electrawinds" and the owners of
"Kafilerija".
As she explained, the factory’s capacity will amount to 200,000 tons of animal
waste. The processed waste gives technical grease, which is used in production
of energy and, most frequently, as the driving fuel for power generators.
She said that, according to the current data, Serbia annually produced 280,000 tons of animal waste, but it was estimated that the quantity was much larger.
The Minister of Environment Protection, Oliver Dulić, said that the factory was going to employ 50 people, while another 250 workers would be hired to collect slaughterhouse waste.
