Deputy Prime Minister Zorana Mihajlovic signed a loan agreement with the Chinese Exim Bank today, which will be used to finance the reconstruction and modernization of the first section of the railway from Belgrade to Budapest. Another two agreements were signed in China, pertaining to the Bar-Boljare highway and the construction of the Fruska Gora Corridor. The signed memorandums and agreements have been estimated at a total of EUR 3.5 billion, which is only a part of what will be invested in transportation infrastructure. As much as EUR 14.7 billion is to be set aside for the entire reconstruction in the sectors of transport, energy and ecology.

These are the topics we've covered in our Special Edition Newsletter: Infrastructure – Building Today for a Better Tomorrow.

The topics in the new SEN include:

1. What are the state's capital projects in infrastructure?
2. What works do local self-governments in Serbia plan?
3. What are the priority projects in the field of railways?
4. How can local companies take part in infrastructural works?
5. Which innovative materials can be used in construction?

We sought answers to these questions at the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, the Business Support Network, the Chamber of Construction Industry of Serbia, the Southeast Europe Railway Cluster...

We pointed to the necessity of insuring facilities in construction in partnership with Wiener Stadtische Insurance.

We talked to Director General of the Institute of Transportation CIP, Milutin Ignjatovic, about the current projects, challenges and human resources. The director of INSO, Predrag Bezbradica, talked about the construction of high-technology facilities.

The company CRH Serbia also presented its construction products and solutions. Supervision solutions in construction were presented by VMS Belgrade.
