The Ukranian food company Energye from Kiev has signed an agreement on the raising of a poultry farm with a seven million head capacity, i.e. 12 million tons of products a year, with the local self-government of Apatin.

The value of the investment is EUR 60 million, and the construction should start by the end of 2017. The plan is for 300 workers to be employed in the first stage, whereas another 1,000 would be employed later.

The annual production of poultry meat should be exported to China and the UAE, but a part should also be available at the local market.

The Municipality of Apatin has set aside 150 hectares for the purpose, and the agreement was signed by Mayor Milan Skrbic and Director General of Energye Svetlana Savchuk.
