SWISS to establish Nis-Zurich airline in April 2017
Beginning with April 7, the company's planes will fly twice a week, Fridays and Sundays. Flights can be booked at swiss.com or at airline ticket-selling agencies throughout Serbia. SWISS will be using Airbus A320 or Bombardier Series C airplanes on the route.
In the past 30 years, routes to Zurich have been established on several occasions, with the largest number of regular flights being realized in 2004 and 2006, when Jat Airways and Montenegro Airlines had flights to Zurich. The last regular flight was realized by Jat in 2009.
An unsuccessful attempt to once again connect Nis to Zurich, but also to Geneva, was made during the last winter holiday period, when Darwin Airlines (now Etihad Regional), in cooperation with the Swiss tourism agency Feral Travel, canceled the route due to unprofitability and expensive tickets.
Let us remind that the two largest low-cost airlines, Wizz Air and Ryanair, have long since established routes from the Nis Airport to 9 European destinations.
