La Linea Verde starts building factory in Dobrinci near Ruma – Vegetable processing and packing factory to employ 150 workers
The plan is to employ 150 workers in the factory. Furthermore, numerous agricultural holdings will be provided with an opportunity of being the Italian investor's subcontractors.
This is La Linea Verde's sixth factory and the first one in Serbia. This is a greenfield investment, and the factory will primarily produce and pack salad. The La Linea Verde does business with great chains in the EU, and their current capacity is a million packages a day.
The founding stone was laid down by the state secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Dragan Stevanovic, the president of the municipality of Ruma, Sladjan Mancic, and the general manager of La Linea Verde in Serbia, Branislav Ignjatovic. The event was also attended by the assistant to the minister of agriculture, Nenad Katanic, and the vice president of the Assembly of Vojvodina, Damir Zobenica.
The investment is worth around EUR 8 million in the first phase of the project, whereas a lot more will be invested in the second phase.
