Fiat Kragujevac to operate at one fourth of its capacities
The production will continue in two shifts, since Fiat let go several hundred workers due to reduced demand for the model 500. Due to this, around 400 instead of 650 cars will leave the assembly lines daily.
It is expected that the Kragujevac factory will produce around 70,000 Fiats 500L by the end of 2016, which means that merely a fourth of FCA Serbia's projected capacities will be used. The decision on canceling the third shift and laying off workers was made due to the lowered presence in the market, especially in America.
