Mayor of Belgrade Sinisa Mali had a talk on Friday, May 27, at Stari Dvor, with the US Ambassador Kyle Scott about attracting foreign investments and big projects of the City of Belgrade.

The American Ambassador said that Belgrade is displaying dynamic growth and development and praised the City for sorting out financial issues and carrying out big projects.

Scott noticed that the city was very proactive and that it strove to attract foreign investors, says the statement by the Service for Information of the City of Belgrade.

Mali emphasized that the City of Belgrade found the American companies to be of great importance, which is why the City strove to provide favorable conditions to foreign investors.

He said that one of the goals of the city foreman was to increase employment, which the arrival of those companies made possible.

A good example thereof is the American company NCR, which employs 1,500 people in Belgrade, added Mali.

The Mayor said that big projects were being carried out in Belgrade using the model of public-private partnerships (3P), with an emphasis on the Vinca landfill and the sewage processing project. He added that all projects were being carried out in cooperation with the world's most important financial institutions, like EBRD, IFC and KFN.

He also said that there were serious plans not only for infrastructure, but for social and health care, building of kindergartens, the new building for the Children's Shelter, and the reconstruction of the Shelter for Adults and Elderly Persons.

There was also talk about the first Belgrade – New York flight of the national airline company “Air Serbia”, which will happen on June 23, and which will be attended, it has been confirmed, by the American ambassador.

Mali and Scott agreed that it was very important to look into the case of the demolition of illegal objects in Savamala and that it was necessary that competent authorities solve the case.

The meeting was attended by Senior Commercial Officer of the US Embassy Robert Dunn.
