New building of Japanese Embassy opened

Today, in Belgrade, new building fo the Japanese Embassy was opened and the ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister Vucic and the Minister of foreign affairs, Ivica Dacic, Tanjug reports.

Vucic congratulated to the Japanese people and the government for opening new embassy building and expressed hope for development of bilateral cooperation of Serbia and Japan.

Thanking to Japan for support and help to Serbia after floods which hit our country in May last year, Vucic outlined Serbia sees Japan as friendly country.

He said he hopes that just like the construction of the building was efficient, the same will go for further development of bilateral cooperation when it comes to trade exchange increase.

The ambassador of Japan, Masafumi Kuroki, thanked to the Government of Serbia and authorities in Belgrade for cooperation in new building construction. He said the process of relocation of the embassy had long history and in 1981 the first contract on land was signed.

According to him, construction of new building of Japanese embassy started in May 2013 and ended in February this year.

He outlined that Japan and Serbia continue close cooperation based on traditional friendly relations.
