Vice President of the Serbian Government and the minister of construction, traffic and infrastructure, prof. dr. Zorana Mihajlovic, has discussed today with the minister of traffic of the Russian Federation the increase of contingent for international transporters for the Russian market since goods exchange scope is on the increase between the two countries and that it will most likely exceed three billion dollars this year, Serbian ministry announces.

Mihajlovic estimated it is very important to increase the number of permits and thus meet the needs of transporters since goods exchange scope has been on the increase and that existing permits contingent does not satisfy increasing needs.

Russian party is ready to discuss liberalization of permits regime which will be one of the topics of the next meeting between Russian-Serbian Mixed commission for road transport which is due mid-November in Belgrade.

As the first step, they will discuss liberalization of permits for trucks with Euro 3, 4, 5 and 6 categories i.e. the increase of the number of bilateral transit permits for 1.500 of them by the end of this year and 12.000 in the next year. Apart from that, one of the topics at the meeting in Belgrade will be increased participation of Russian transporters in goods exchange between the two countries.

Mihajlovic and Sokolov agreed that cooperation in the field of traffic is good, especially due to speed up infrastructure projects implementation as well as that there are options to start new projects.
