Slovenian food from our fields - two Slovenian companies planning relocation of production to Serbia
Roman Glazer, the Head of the Administration of Ptuj-based "Perutnina", the largest poultry farm on the territory of southeast Europe, announced that, after the farms in Čakovac and Banja Luka, the investments would be directed into Serbia.
- The problem we and local manufacturers have in Serbia is unfair competition, because nearly 50% of chicken meat goes through the grey market - says Glazer.
The second strong agricultural - food-processing company, "Panvita" from Murska Sobota, plans to relocate part of the production to Serbia.
- It is not our aim to sell in Serbia, but to produce there. Its advantage is cheaper manpower, corn, wheat and other raw materials, so that we definitely have interest to enter some joint investments and production with some Serbian company in the close future - says Dejan Židan.
