The Task Force for Amendments to the Labor Law will meet again on March 27 to discuss the provisions relating to minimum wage and the extended application of collective agreements, Zoran Mihajlovic, the vice president of the Association of Independent Trade Unions of Serbia, told Tanjug on Tuesday.

Trade unions are of the opinion that minimum wage should be determined once a year, in October, and that it should amount to at least 70 percent of the cost of the minimum consumer basket.

Also, trade unions believe that the extended application of collective agreements should still be kept in effect.

Dragoljub Rajic, the director of the Union of Employers of Serbia, told Tanjug news agency on Monday that he expected the meetings and talks focusing on the Labor Law to be resumed in the shortest time possible.

He is of the opinion that one year has already been wasted on talks, adding that it would be good to meet the deadlines and reach a compromise on contentious provisions by June.
