The vicinity of a lake, the architecture originating from the second half of the 19th century, modern interior and good services attract numerous tourists from around the globe to Palic-based Elitte hotels. In order to offer its guests as many additional services as possible, the company Elitte plans to start the construction of a EUR 0.5 million worth of spa and wellness center next year.

- We want to keep pace with the times and offer our guests new services in our hotels. Elitte operates two four-star hotels - Park and Jezero, and a new spa and wellness center will be built in the annex of Jezero hotel. We also plan to build a semi-Olympic swimming pool with all accompanying facilities such as sauna, steam bath, massage rooms, mini fitness hall and bar – Nenad Vukasinovic, director of Elitte Palic, announces in an interview for eKapija.

The author of the exterior of aforementioned facility is Subotica-based Geoexpert, and people at Elitte Palic told us they were considering the use of alternative sources of energy in the new building.

- The preliminary design of the building will be revised since we have come to an idea to use solar energy. Few people know that Palic has a big number of sunny days, almost as many as Hvar. We believe that this innovation in our offer will increase the interest of guests and improve the overall offer of Palic - Vukasinovic stresses.

Our interlocutor says that the new spa center should be opened 1.5 or 2 years after the construction kicks off, but he also adds that it is difficult to talk about exact dates at the time of the crisis.

- Our hotels are very important cultural and historical buildings under the state's protection so that every intervention on them requires an additional and complex administrative procedure, which will extend our projected deadline for the opening of the spa center.

The director of Elitte Palic says he is satisfied with the business results in the previous period.

- The reason why we are optimistic is a very successful year 2010. Last year, the number of overnight stays was increased by 7.2%, whereas the number of guests grew by about 5%.

As Vukasinovic explains, foreign guests had 30% of all overnight stays in 2011, and they are mainly people from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Macedonia, Croatia, and Slovenia.

Hotels Park and Jezero

These hotels are situated 50 meters away from the bank of Palic Lake, hidden in a centennial sycamore woods. Park was built in 1860 by the project of Janos Skulteti, in classicist style, and it is under the protection of the Cultural Heritage Preservation Institute. This hotel comprises 2 one-bed rooms, 17 two-bed rooms, 7 double-bed rooms, and 9 suites.

(Mala Gostiona)

Jezero hotel, built in 1903 in the vicinity of Park hotel, comprises 19 two-bed rooms and 9 double-bed rooms. The guests of both hotels can use the services of a spa center situated within the hotel Park.

Mala Gostiona

Elitte Palic operates two restaurants - Mala Gostiona and Riblja Carda. Among local inhabitants and visitors of this area, Mala Gostiona is known as a place where people can "feast well, drink and have fun." A predecessor of the current restaurant was an inn opened in 1852, which was a place for travelers to take a rest. As Palic developed as a spa resort, that inn grew into a modern catering facility. The Subotica City Archives still keeps original menus from 1870, which include over 50 different dishes and 30 sorts of wine.

This restaurant is now a modern facility, thoroughly reconstructed and expanded in 1998. There are 280 seats within this four-star restaurant, and another 350 seats in two open-air sections. The menu includes homemade and international specialties, as well as over 80 sorts of wine from the best domestic and foreign wine cellars.

(Riblja Carda)

There are 5 congress halls for congresses and meetings on the first floor of the restaurant, and they are completely equipped with necessary audio and visual equipment. The look of the restaurant perfectly fits into the unique architecture of Palic and evokes the golden age of Palic from the late 19th and early 20th century.

Riblja Carda

The restaurant Riblja Carda is situated on the very bank of Palic Lake. Its menu includes various fish specialties.

In addition to tasty dishes, the offer of this restaurant also includes wines from wine cellars in Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, France, Macedonia, South Africa, and Chile, as well as famous homemade brandies made of apple, apricot, and quince.

Riblja Carda was built in the 1980's and is a protected cultural heritage. It has 45 seats indoors and 120 seats outdoors.
