Djedovic: State Aims to Be Owner of EPS, Professional Management Is Something Else
Guesting on Radio-Television of Vojvodina, she pointed out that all negotiations about EPS should benefit the state, not the potential private owner.
– The privatization of EPS is not being planned, and journalists write things that they haven’t checked. We talked with Norwegians about the fact that Norway has a majority ownership over the energy sector, which is state-owned, and 30 years ago, they learned from Americans. Now Norwegians are part of the professional management in those companies – Djedovic said.
She pointed out that it was not true that Norway couldn’t be compared to Serbia when it comes to energy and that their consulting company Rystad, which had been selected partner in the process of the reforms of the management of energy companies in Serbia, was the most reputable one in the world.
– A team of professionals from Serbia will certainly be included in the main team, of course we have plenty of our people who are experts, but it’s not about names, it’s about exchanging experiences. When the state negotiates about sensitive matters, it classifies what will be kept secret, and what will be made public. There’s nothing that’s questionable or problematic about the Norwegians. We have been working together for six months now, and I expect the first results in March or April 2023 – the minister said.
