At the Market Between 65 and 70% of Counterfeit Goods - "Nike" Trademark is the Most Copied One

At our market there is between 65 and 70% of counterfeit goods. Customers, except at a flea market and in the Chinese shops, could be duped in some reputable shops as well.

Some traders taking goods from unverified suppliers, circumvent the general importer of the certain brands in order to pay less money.

- Market inspectors have an obligation to control. We need help from the producers themselves. If we are provided all the information about the original products, we would easily be able to warn people to counterfeit - said the president of the National Consumer Organization, Mr. Goran Papovic.

He says that customers find it difficult to visually assess the original item. It should be noted that the sign was well-sewn, paid attention to the smell - if it resembles the smell of Chinese store, then it is the forgery.

Market Inspector Mr. Radenko Cetkovic says that agents of importers follow the market and inform where they found the forgeries, and then the inspections are making the control.

- Most information we had are for the "Nike" sport equipment. With the reports of their agents we have controled over retail, flea market, Chinese shopping mall and seized counterfeits that we found, but the problem is that at the point of sale there is a small number of items. The rest are in storage, whose location is unknown to us - said Mr. Cetkovic.

Illegal factories The Customs officials have found, a few days ago after months of working together with the police force, and discovered a warehouse in the village Ledine with more than 6,500 pairs of counterfeit shoes and machinery for their manufacture. In this warehouse were found several hundred thousand characters of the brand "Nike" ready for gluing and sewing on the shoes, and seven machine which are used for counterfeiting, with all the necessary tools.

In the Chinese shopping mall, in Block 70 one could find everything. From the popular "Nike twos" that can be bought for 2000, scarves marked "D & D" and "Louis Vuitton" can be purchased at a cost of 1,200 to 1,800 depending on the size, "Chanell" bags, smaller ones are 2,500 and the bigger ones are up to 6000, traveling bags of the same brand are 10,000 dinars
