Seveplant to open facility in Kula industrial zone in October – Fiorano begins training workers as well
Seveplant is part of the Dutch company Verbeek, which is one of the biggest producers of planting material in Europe. The company is already active in Sivac, and they produce high-quality planting material (apple, pear, plum and cherry). So far, they have had over two million annual and biennial plants in their nursery, and, as reported earlier, the idea is to position the company in Serbia permanently by building new capacities in the Kula industrial zone. The long-term plan is to have the majority of the production move from the Netherlands to Serbia, and the facilities currently being raised in Kula are cooling, sorting and grafting, and office facilities.
This industrial zone expects another investor, Fiorano, a clothing manufacture company. As previously announced, Fiorano, which is already active in Sombor, intends to build a facility in the Kula industrial zone and employ a total of 300 workers.
– Fiorano has bought a parcel of 2.3 hectares. The geomechanical testing was performed in July and the project is currently being prepared. We expect the company’s representatives to soon file a request for the location requirements – the municipality says for our portal.
Following the Job Fair organized by the National Employment Service and the Municipality of Kula, primarily for Fiorano’s needs, around 50 workers from Kula were employed, who are now being sent for training to Sombor – our interviewees say.
