This year could be a record year for tourism in Serbia because the first months saw FX revenue from tourism grow 9% and the number of tourists and overnight stays go up 18% and 20%, respectively, Serbian Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Minister Rasim Ljajic said Tuesday at the opening ceremony of the Tourist Info Center at Palic.

Construction of the Tourist Info Center at Palic was financed by the Ministry with RSD 7 million, Ljajic noted and underlined that Palic deserved to be one of the most important tourist destinations in the country.

He stressed that the Tourist Info Center was only one of the four projects that his ministry had implemented in 2015 at Palic, adding that a total of RSD 19 million had been set aside for that purpose.

Ljajic stressed that the number of local and foreign tourists in the first two months of 2016 had grown 15% and 32%, respectively.
