Belgrade gets fourteen Swiss trams
Thanks to a donation from the Government of Switzerland, the City of Belgrade has obtained 14 trams that will be in operation in few days, Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali said and added that additional 15 streetcars would arrive in the capital in the following period.
- These trams will contribute to a higher frequency and better quality of public transport. I hope these streetcars from Switzerland will significantly improve the city transportation system in Belgrade - said Mali after visiting GSP (the City Transportation Company of Belgrade).
He visited this company accompanied by Bern Mayor Alexander Chepet. The two of them signed an Agreement on Cooperation and Friendship between Belgrade and Bern earlier today.
Reminding that Switzerland was famous for chocolate, watches and public transport, Chepet pointed to public transport as one of the most important things for a city to be successful.
